Ikea? We’re not nicking pencils again are we?

Spacer

Take a chill pill sweet cheeks, it was a joke because Modulo sounds like it could be an Ikea wardrobe or an elegantly designed chair with… Oh forget it, my jokes are wasted on you!

Spacer

I’ll just get straight to it… Crack open your 3rd eye, lube up your abacus and summon a fresh deck of bikes because today we’re gliding straight into Fraser Parker.

Spacer

WAIT…WHAT?. You’re gliding into Fraser Parker?

Spacer

Spacer

My bad… I missed out a few words there.

I meant we’re gliding straight into the paradoxical, rule breaking and let’s not forget brain melting world of Fraser Parker in his latest saucerful of secrets: Modulo.

Spacer

This is Fraser’s delightfully baffling take on the Any Card at Any Number (ACAAN) plot… Yes, that plot… The Holy Grail.

Spacer

This is a trick that’s drove magicians to the brink of madness and sent mentalists to padded cells whilst arguing with psychiatrists about the true meaning of ‘any’.

Spacer

Spacer

Fraser Parker doesn’t just offer a solution to ACAAN. He offers a philosophical disruption. Modulo is a system that says:

Spacer

I see your mathematical structure and raise you 2 moments of  impossibility!

Spacer

Let’s unfold the ACAAN universe…

Spacer

I’m sure you’ve all seen the different gimmicked decks.

There seems to be a new one every other month.

Some are great, some use apps and each of them offer their own unique approach to solving the ACAAN riddle.

Spacer

Well I’m pleased to inform you that Fraser’s Modulo isn’t an app or a gimmick. Modulo is Fraser Parker’s ACAAN, but like everything Fraser touches, it’s been marinated in strange sauce, then summoned into existence by drunken bats who sing Oasis songs!

In this effect:

Spacer

A participant freely thinks of a card.

Another participant freely thinks of a number.

A physical deck (yes, real cards, calm down purists) is introduced. The cards are removed from the box and the thought of card is at the thought of number.

No dodgy looking sleight of hand, no quantum physics, no p*e sho*, no stooges and no weird pauses where you suddenly look as though you’re recalculating your mortgage.

Just pure thought… manifesting as a card and a number.

Spacer

But wait… How?

Spacer

Well I’m not going to give away the dark arts but I will tell you that Modulo works on a proprietary blend of:

Spacer

Fraser style psychological structure, participant management, a little bit of boldness camouflaged as casual confidence, a touch of divine misdirection that feels like it’s been blessed by an oracle and some binary Juju. All the fluffy stuff is gone and what you’re left with isn’t a magician’s solution, it’s a mentalist’s answer to ACAAN.

Spacer

You’re not just performing a trick, you’re building a moment.

One where people will question the way reality unfolds in front of them.

Spacer

Sounds Like Witchcraft!

Spacer

Spacer

It’s not witchcraft and their is a compromise (there’s always a compromise!) Every version of ACAAN has it’s own unique compromise but what’s nice about Modulo is how Fraser frames it and his subtle use of psychology makes it seem as though you’ve never even handled the deck.

Spacer

Another cool thing about Modulo is: It’s Actually Practical

No, really, you can do this, keep a deck in your pocket and you can perform it at any given moment, it works in close up, parlour and even stage settings. In fact you could do this over Skype

(if Skype’s even still a thing?)

Spacer

What I will say though is:

This isn’t a boil in the bag trick and away you go.

As with anything useful there’s a moderate learning curve.

You’re gonna need some Karate Kid level focus when learning Modulo.

Own the Silence… Fraser’s effects thrive in stillness. Don’t rush, allow each phase to breathe. If a spectator starts holding their breath, you’re doing it right… Unless they go blue, in which case I hope you know CPR?

Spacer

Don’t Oversell it, let the structure do the work.

Lean Into the Mystery, you’re not solving a puzzle.

You’re channelling thoughts.

Rehearse your Confidence, Modulo requires you to appear relaxed. You want them to believe that you’ve already seen the outcome. Be gentle, subtle and spooky.

Who Is Modulo For?

Spacer

I’ll tell you who it’s not for:

Spacer

people who still count using their fingers, card sharks, sleight junkies or magicians who need 37 outs and a double lift just to feel safe.

Spacer

Modulo is for:

Spacer

Mentalists who can count past their first hand.

Performers who like things to feel real, rather than just look clever. Fraser fans who enjoy the mix of minimalism and mystery.

Spacer

If you’re already familiar with Fraser’s material like False Messiah or Sui Generis, then Modulo will feel like a natural evolution for you.

Spacer

Like most of Fraser’s effects, Modulo isn’t about fooling magicians. It’s about creating genuine moments of impossibility for real people.

Fragmented Thoughts:

Spacer

Fraser Parker doesn’t create puzzles, he builds portals and with Modulo, he hands you the key, it’s subtle and invisible but immensely powerful.

Spacer

This is not the kind of trick you do 10 times a night.

This is the one you save, the one you build up to.

The one where the deck never touches your hands and their minds never quite recover. Fraser hasn’t just solved ACAAN…

He’s transcended it!

But hurry, as of now there’s less than 20 remaining!
