The International Man of Mischief!

I’m an accident prone Husband, Dad, Papa and aspiring Mentalist.

I started out in magic about 40 years ago.

I lost touch with myself and gave magic a back seat during my latter teen years, walking around with a bum bag (fanny pack if you’re American) full of coins, cards, shoelaces, plastic thumbs and handkerchiefs, making a nuisance of myself with magic tricks didn’t seem like a good idea when I was trying to fit in with the cool kids…

Fast forward a lot of Raves (and years) later and after living what you might consider to be a pretty colourful life, I rediscovered my love for magic.

Suddenly, making a nuisance of myself seemed like a great idea!

Aargh this is starting to look like a dating profile!

No… Carry on it looks alright!

Alright, where were we?

As a young boy I had a serious head injury causing me to die 3 times.

Well they do say it comes in 3’s!

What has that, got to do with any of this?

Well I’d like to tell you that this unfortunate event left me with psychic super powers…..

But I’m really not that lucky! It did however leave me with a disability. Nothing too crazy, just motor nerve damage down my left side and a broken brain!

This can make it quite difficult for me to do simple tasks, like handle playing cards or perform basic sleights.

This made my life as a magician quite tricky!

(excuse the pun)

Because I still enjoy magic and I want to perform. Mentalism is the obvious choice for me.

I understand this really has naff all to do with mentalism or blogging, it’s just an (un)interesting fact about me.

Well actually, it kind of does have something to do with it. You see I have slight memory troubles too.

I don’t go outside without clothes on or anything like that but I can suddenly forget why I’m doing things and it does bother me from time to time.

My confidence has been affected from this and 1 or 2 other traumatic events in my life.

So, in a quest to try and repair some of the damage to my brain, fix my memory issues, build my confidence and pursue both my passion of writing and mentalism.

I decided I’d start a blog and see if I can help others along the way too.

I know, I’ll start a blog… It’ll be fun I thought.

And it was…

Until I came face to face with the biggest challenge in my modest amount of time in this human form…

Anyway this is me.

A hobbyist with ideas of grandeur, well quite modest ideas actually!

I may or may not be in the middle of a mid-life crisis, who knows?

But, I’ve started this blog with the purpose of keeping myself motivated, to continue learning as much as I can about mentalism and to share some of that knowledge with others.
