My Mind Rocks
Welcome to the secret society of the mentalist mind
Not all minds that wander are lost, some are just on their way to discovering My Mind Rocks. – Ancient Oddsock Proverb (circa last Tuesday)
Initiation begins
Dear you, yes you… The one with the eyebrows and drawers full of bent spoons. You’ve just uncovered the mentalist equivalent to a secret knock on a temple door to a sacred place on the internet.
Welcome to the My Mind Rocks Society.
This isn’t just a blog post, it’s an invitation to a secret society disguised as content. There’s no secret handshake yet but when we do get one, it will involve subtle eye contact, a psychic wink and a rubber chicken. Probably two! This is where the weird are welcome and the lines of reality get smudged with a Sharpie.
What is My Mind Rocks?
My Mind Rocks is a gathering place for:
Mind readers with peculiar ideas and psychic tricksters who believe in the power of ambiguity and Oddsocks.
One does not simply walk into the realm of My Mind Rocks.
One must tiptoe backwards through a riddle while wearing oddened socks. — The Sock Oracle (probably)
It’s a hidden chamber behind the curtain of a community that’s built on echoes that smell like lavender and static electricity.
Ego’s are left at the wayside because My Mind Rocks is an inclusive community for anybody with an interest in mentalism, regardless of experience.
You’ll find:
Community Hub: This is the posting area for questions, sharing stories or even to just say hello.
Mentalism Toolbox: This currently has 42 lectures in there, from people like Paul Brook, Marc Spelmann, Richard Osterlind, Luke Jermay, Paul Voodini, Alexander Marsh, Drew McAdam and a whole bunch of other professional mentalist’s.
Weekly Live Jam: Jump on the old Zoom and join in with the discussions and community projects to sharpen your skills or just come along to be sociable.
Live Monthly Sessions: These are hosted by Looch and are full of nuggets of mentalism gold, don’t worry if you can’t make any of the sessions as the replays are all in your toolbox.
Who is allowed entry?
The gate is narrow, the path is winding and there is no actual door. You simply arrive, you belong here if you’ve ever:
Said it’s just a trick but secretly believe in real magic.
Created a routine at 3AM using spaghetti and a napkin.
You write all your weird thoughts in a notebook full of unreadable diagrams and coffee rings.
You don’t need to be famous, slick or beard strokingly mysterious. You just need to enjoy the art of mind games, suggestion, psychological dance and psychic theatre.
The Rules (Written in Disappearing Ink)
No Guru syndrome: We’re all learning, some of us sideways so leave your ego at home!
Weird is good: If you’ve made a prop using a haunted toaster, we wanna know so share it.
Kindness = Growth: Creativity thrives here and everyone is generous with their knowledge.
What You’ll Get (Besides Enlightenment)
You’ll be part of a growing network of idea swapping, routine building, mystery loving minds. Community interviews and the kind of encouragement only fellow thought benders and psychic octopuses can provide.
Access to secret PDFs, giveaways, behind the scenes exclusives with Looch at private gigs. Plus you’ll get early access to new releases from Looch’s Read My Mind as well as your members 20% discount off all Read My Mind products.
So How Do You Join?
Through the secret initiation ritual. Follow the steps below:
The Official Unofficial Initiation Ritual
for entry into the My Mind Rocks secret society:
Step 1: Prepare the sacred items
Before you begin, gather the following:
One mismatched sock: Preferably the left but more importantly the sock must not match anything, especially not your soul.
A spoon: Preferably slightly bent or emotionally unstable.
A mirror: Any size will do but you get bonus points if it’s haunted.
A small marble: To represent the fragile nature of thought.
Destiny: Your weirdest thought from the past 24 hours, written in permanent marker on your palm.
Step 2: The chant of the mentalist mind
Stand in front of the mirror, place the sock on your head like a crown. Hold the spoon in your dominant hand and the marble in the other.
Now repeat the sacred chant three times:
In My Mind Rocks, thoughts are revealed. Secrets whispered, madness sealed.
Sock upon skull, spoon in command. I join the tribe, both weird and grand.
Raise the spoon each time you say command and try not to hit the lightbulb.
Step 3: The gesture of invisible insight
Still wearing your Sock Crown™ make the official society hand gesture:
Point to your temple and tap your left foot seven times.
Then whisper a psychic prediction to the marble.
Step 4: Reveal your true name
Every member must adopt their mystic performance name.
This is how you will be known within the shadowy halls of the society.
To find yours:
Take last thing you looked at this morning with a mystical sounding word from your favourite cereal box.
Examples:
Honey Oracle. Crunchy Seer of Fog. Spoon of Cinnamon Truth.
Post your new name in the comments or send a note attached to a pigeon and hope it finds its way to Looch before Sunday.
Step 5: The sock pact
Finally, raise your sock to the sky and say:
I vow to uphold the sacred chaos, to bend thoughts but not minds.
To use my powers for wonder, mystery and mild confusion.
Place the sock somewhere important where it can watch over you:
On your altar, your desk or your cat.
Or you could just click the My Mind Rocks logo below and sign up there, completely bypassing all the ritual fluff I just created… Your choice!
Go forth and share your knowledge, misdirect with style and always bring snacks.
Comment below with the mentalist name you’ve given yourself and subscribe to the Mind Unmasked Newsletter.
I’ll see you on one of the Live Jams!

Thank you for sharing the good news about MMR. It should be noted that curmudgeons are not allowed. Kindness = Growth.
Hi Terry, thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I think the message I was trying to say with Kindness = Cleverness is that everybody’s kindness contributes to the creativity in the community. Kind of like it’s clever to be kind, my vocabulary sometimes plays hide and seek with me and when this happens I use the wrong words but I like your choice of words better so I’ll change that right now.
