The Arithmancer by Christopher Parrish and Daniel Sutton

ARITHMANCER

Arithmancer

Paranormal Pythagoras or Digital Devilry?

Welcome to another unhinged but honest review, this time I’m on a quest to unpack decades of mathematical dyslexia.

Yes I’m number dyslexic and yes I’m attempting to learn Arithmancer which is crazy I know. But this is a crazy, sexy, cool project by Christopher Parrish and Daniel Sutton and is available through Lewis Le Val’s company MindHaus.

Let me start by telling you a tale:

Once, deep in the bowels of an abandoned bingo hall in the north of England, I saw a closed door with a sign above which read “Abby Red in ‘ere. I was intrigued to say the least, so I opened the door and was met by a lady who claimed to be a numerologist. She  told me that the numbers 3 and 8 controlled her life, her dreams and her dogs fashion sense!

She scribbled on receipts, whispered to clocks and told fortunes using microwave wattage. I asked her if any of it worked.

No, she said. But it feels like it should.

That was the day I began my obsession with all things mystical and why  Arithmancer hit me like a calculator possessed by Aleister Crowley.

If you’re a mentalist, magician or psychic wannabe wandering the back alleys of number magic, then Arithmancer isn’t just your next effect, it’s a freakin’ portal into another dimension.

Must we really go through all this silliness every time you write something?

Oh, it’s you again!

No we don’t, I’ll behave today. Now let’s get stuck in.

What is Arithmancer?

Arithmancer is a numerology based system developed by Christopher Parrish and his co-defendant Daniel Sutton which they published through MindHaus, quite possibly the world’s leading supplier of effects you buy when you’re performing a ritual sacrifice on your sanity!

Here’s the Baseball pitch:

A participant opens the calculator app on their own phone.

They do a simple mathematical equation.

You then tell them personal things, spooky things, things you couldn’t possibly know like their date of birth, star sign, personality traits and next week’s lottery numbers.

Ok not that, but you can reveal things about them and give them a full reading using any phone calculator and the secret knowledge you’ve gained using Arithmancer.

What do you get for your hard earned pieces of gold?

A 111 page PDF manual that’s genuinely readable. It’s  packed with theory, method, applications, routines and a lot of serious thinking.

A 46 minute video with Christopher Parrish, Daniel Sutton,

and Lewis Le Val being all talky n’ stuff!

A lovely Q&A system that’s so clean, you’ll contemplate a career in cult leadership.

There’s no hidden apps, no gaffs, and NO, you don’t have to sell your soul to the

NUMBERTAKER!

Everything is handled using the participant’s own calculator and basic arithmetic. It’s a miracle wrapped in maths, wrapped in madness.

I think it’s time I got serious for a minute. Well as serious as a mentalist can be while drinking Red Bull through a bendy straw in a haunted caravan.

It’s Grounded in Real Numerology

There’s something sexy about pseudo science when used in performance.

Whether or not you believe in numerology, your audience probably does, or they will want to after you’ve finished with them.

Arithmancer gives you a framework that uses real numerological principles but layers them with a deceptive presentation.

What does this mean for you?

Well for a start you’ll look authentic and the Arithmancer system will make sense.

It won’t fall apart under scrutiny, even a real numerologist could watch you perform it and say:

“Whoa. This guy knows his lifepath onions!”

Most importantly, it’s entertaining and that’s the name of the game. I think!

Every performance feels different.

Let’s say you perform it for Brian… Hi Brian!

You tell Brian he’s a Scorpio with commitment issues, Brian’s head falls off.

You do it again the next day for Brian’s mate Dave.

Dave’s head also falls off but Dave picks his head up and tucks it under his arm. He’s now wandering around like a rugby player looking for the goal posts of life.

Don’t worry though…

Dave will probably stick his head back on with optimism and duct tape!

Both men are equally impressed and the reason they’re both impressed is because they both got a different result, different path and a different reading.

That’s because Arithmancer uses what the boys call a Changing Life Force Number. Sounds like a villain from a 1980s cartoon, but actually it’s a clever tool that evolves the reading depending on the day, the calculation, and the alignment of the moons. Okay not the moons, but you get the idea don’t you.

In a nutshell this means repeatability which is a huge asset for mentalists.

Arithmancer is completely hands off, you do nothing except talk and read

results from a calculator.

Meanwhile, your participant is doing everything, all the work, the belief building and the maths.

Here’s why I think Arithmancer is different to other reading systems

Listen, I’ve tried them all: Star chart billet peeks, Voodoo spreadsheets,

Animal spirit skinny dipping and iPhone astrology revelations.

Arithmancer slices through the mumbo jumbo, it’s direct and simple, but let’s not ignore the learning curve.

As I mentioned earlier I’m number dyslexic, that was actually true.

I really do struggle with numbers, but that’s why the zoom chat with Christopher, Daniel and Lewis is there. It helps to clear up any uncertainties you may have. After watching the zoom call and reading through the book, even I can do this math. Although I will need a bit more practise to have it fully down and there is a little bit of memory work involved for the stack, but again this is nothing too heavy and you could even cheat and use a cr*b!

Honestly, you can learn this in a few hours and be out performing it like a

demi god on Red Bull by the weekend.

The Verdict:

Should you buy it, perform it or marry it?

If you’re looking for a plug and play miracle, then this isn’t it. However if you’re looking to up your game and are willing to put the work in then Arithmancer is your answer. Whether you’re performing in a living room, corporate event, online zoom séance or at a secret Illuminati cocktail party, this thing works and you won’t be disappointed, unless you hate fun.

In which case… What are you even doing here?

Last words from the blogger in the tinfoil hat:

I don’t give praise lightly to anything that flirts with mathematics.

But Arithmancer is legit. It’s powerful, it’s the good sort of strange and it’s the kind of system that lets you create goosebump moments using only a calculator, some presentation and a light sprinkle of confidence.

Now let’s say you throw in a bit of your own flair, like a crystal, an orb,

an Octopus or a story about how you learned numerology from a talking vending machine, you’ll never look back.

Go forth and be brave Arithmancer, your audience’s fate awaits you.
