The Monday curse

Spacer

Oh no, it’s Monday already… That horrible beast that slides into your headspace wearing the hoodie of dread.

You wake up, your head feels like it’s been rewired by gremlins and you can hear a voice that sounds like a boot sergeant inside your brain screaming:

Spacer

You should’ve done more yesterday!

Spacer

Just breathe, this isn’t a curse and believe it or not, Monday is not your enemy. It’s your chance to hit the psychic reboot button and perform a mental exorcism.

Spacer

In the grand lodge of Mentis, the first Monday of the month are reserved for the great reset. So put on your oddest Oddsock, light the incense of metaphor and let’s float into this monthly Monday mind reset ritual.

The cluttered head ceremony

Spacer

Look here, your brain is not a never ending filing cabinet.

It’s more like a haunted attic filled with half written scripts, forgotten dreams and a distinct smell of marmite.

Spacer

Ritual

Spacer

Grab yourself a bowl, you get bonus points if it looks mystical.

Sit down with a pen and paper and write down every thought that’s currently haunting you, tasks, fears, the weird comment someone made about your lisp

and even that idea you think might change mentalism forever.

Spacer

Write until your mind is empty, crumple up the paper and throw it in the bowl, now your thoughts are no longer your burden.

They are offerings to the gods of clarity.

Spacer

Why this works: You’re removing psychological tabs running in the background and this reset gives you room to think.

Speak the reset spell

Spacer

Now that we’ve cleared out your mental inbox, it’s time for intention.

Stand in front of a mirror, put on your most ridiculous socks, even better if they don’t match… Power flows from Oddsockedness!

Spacer

Chant this out loud:

Spacer

I am the architect of illusion. I bend thoughts, read silence and forge wonder from shadows. Today, I am clear, I am weird and I am ready.

Spacer

Say it like you mean it and if anyone hears you, that’s ok.

Let them fear your power!

Spacer

Why this works: Rituals with embodiment (socks), vocalisation (chanting)

and reflection (mirror) activate your mental muscles and prime your subconscious to believe you’re already in motion.

Identify the rotten banana

Spacer

Spacer

There’s always one thing you’re avoiding, you dance around it.

Well now it’s grown legs and says:

Spacer

Not today… Maybe next week.

Spacer

This is your rotten banana and it seeps into everything else you do.

Spacer

 Ritual:

Spacer

Write down the 1 task you’re avoiding the most, now do 10 minutes of it.

Just 10… This isn’t about finishing it, it’s about proving to your subconscious that you are not owned by avoidance.

Spacer

Why this works: Avoidance consumes more energy than action,

starting something removes the fog.

Spacer

The psychic playlist

Spacer

A bar of colourful music notes

Spacer

You need a soundtrack, every mentalist should have one.

Create a playlist of music that makes you feel like:

Spacer

You’re about to walk onstage in slow motion or you just escaped a burning circus tent using your wits and sipping on a dry martini.

Play it as you walk, clean, stretch or scream into your pillow!

Spacer

Why this works: Music syncs with your emotional state.

Use it as a tuning fork for your mentalist frequency.

Spacer

The focus Oracle

Spacer

A piece of orange coloured crystal

Spacer

Grab an object like a small rock, a crystal or even an old coin.

Imagine this object is an Oracle of focus and ask it:

Spacer

What is the one thing that deserves my attention this week?

Spacer

Now write down your answer, whatever words pop into your head.

Don’t overthink it… Just let the Oracle guide you, you’ll be shocked how clear the message becomes when you let your subconscious speak.

Spacer

Why this works: The mind operates in weird ways.

Symbolic play bypasses resistance and reveals your true priorities.

Spacer

 Close the ritual

Spacer

End with a few minutes of stillness, sit, eyes open or closed.

No music, no thinking, just allow the silence to fill in the new space you’ve created.

Spacer

Feel how much lighter your mind is?

Because now, you’re not dragging your thoughts. You’re guiding them.

Spacer

Fragmented Thoughts

Spacer

The world tells us that Mondays are for misery. That it’s a grind, a chore and a grey day filled with alcohol fumes and regret.

Spacer

But we’re masters of the mind and we know better.

Spacer

You’re not just a person facing a to do list, you’re a mentalist willing to embrace the unusual and walk barefoot across burning thoughts and turn them into gold.

Spacer

The first Monday of the month is now your starting point. Walk forward, Oddsocked and ready, into a week of miracles, mystery and mild mischief.
