Early life
Born George Joseph Kresge Jr. on January 12, 1935, in Montclair, New Jersey, he displayed an early fascination with the workings of the mind.
As a young boy, he was captivated by comic books, especially Mandrake the Magician.
A hypnotist with mind control powers. It wasn’t long before he began experimenting with suggestion, hypnosis and sleight of hand. He performed for friends and family under the name The World’s Youngest Hypnotist.
Although he later distanced himself from hypnosis as a stage act, these early explorations formed the foundations of a lifelong obsession with the power of suggestion, influence and the subtle art of reading people.
By his teenage years, Kreskin was already performing in schools and community centres, fine tuning the performance skills that would later bring him international acclaim.

He became a regular guest on talk shows like the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Perhaps Kreskin’s most famous stunt involved the promise that if he failed to find his hidden pay cheque at the end of a performance then he wouldn’t get paid.
