3 MINUTES TO REBOOT

The Monday Mentalist Ritual

3 Minutes to Reboot Your Power and Focus for the Week

“There I was face down in my Sock Drawer.”

Surrounded by half written ideas, three broken pencils, and an old lemon that had sprouted legs.

It was Monday. The weekend magic had fizzled away and the energy vampires were circling. The to do list looked like a cursed scroll.

That’s when I reached for the Monday Mentalist Ritual: 3 minutes to summon power, banish mental fog and reboot my system like Windows 95!

Because here’s the secret sauce, you rowdy bunch of brain bandits:

Every Monday is a psychic reset button, if you’ll just dare to press it.

Why Mentalists Need a Weekly Reboot

Mentalism isn’t just about tricks, peeks and psychological tongue twisters.

It’s about presence, power and precision.

But on Mondays, that presence sometimes feels like it’s been abducted by a cult and taken on a seven day bender!

Between emails, social media scrolling and leftover trifle from the weekend, you need a ritual that works fast, hits deep and doesn’t require a sacrificial sock . Unless that’s your thing? No judgement here!

So I’ve conjured three potent tips, each takes just one minute of your valuable time but it’s just enough to summon your mentalist mojo back from the void.

Ready? Great, let’s begin…

Minute One: The Breath of the Mind Reader

Also known as: Stop. Breathe. Hijack Reality.

Close your eyes. Don’t worry, I wont nick your socks.

Now inhale through your nose for 4 seconds, hold it for 4 seconds, then exhale slowly through your mouth for 8 seconds.

Do that three times.

That’s it, that’s the spell and here’s what just happened:

Your heart rate dropped and your brain waves shifted out of panic mode.

Your parasympathetic nervous system lit up like a neon sign.

But most importantly, your prefrontal cortex; The part of your brain responsible for focus, decision making and not blurting out

“I’m psychic” during Coronation street, came back online.

Mentalists talk about being in the moment.

But being in the moment requires you to breathe through the noise.

This simple breath ritual acts like a psychic circuit breaker allowing you interrupt the storm and reclaim your clarity. It’s a signal to your unconscious that you’re no longer reacting to chaos… You’re directing it!

Mentis Tip:

Visualise your breath as a smoky ink being drawn into your body. Dark and mysterious. Each exhale releases the nonsense and leaves only focus.

Minute Two: The Sigil of the Week

Also known as: Draw something that doesn’t exist.

Grab a pen, any pen. But not the one you had up your nose, yes I saw you!

Now grab your Mentalist journal of magical recalibration

You’ve got one of those, haven’t you?

Now draw a symbol that represents how you want to feel this week.

Hold your horses cowboy, theirs a  twist:

Don’t use recognisable shapes. No smiley faces and definitely no stars.

Let your hand move like it’s being guided by a future version of you who’s already won the week over. This is your personal sigil.

It’s raw, abstract and a bit weird but we like weird here!

It might end up looking like a clock being struck by lightning.

But this is powerful stuff, because it represents intention made visual and the human brain thrive on symbols.

We’re not trying to paint a Van Gogh here. This isn’t art…

It’s what I like to call NeuroMagic.

By crafting a sigil, you’re bypassing your monkey mind

and sending a clear message to your subconscious:

“I’ll decide how this week goes.”

Place it somewhere visible; Inside your wallet, taped to your laptop or tattooed on your left eyeball. Although I don’t recommended the last one unless you’re a goth warlock with an extremely high pain threshold!

Mentis Tip:

Charge your sigil with emotion. After you’ve drawn it, stare at it for 10 seconds and feel the result you want. Then forget about it. That’s the secret.

The subconscious mind does the rest.

Minute Three: The Whisper of the Future Self

Also known as: Channel the you that’s already won.

Close your eyes again. I know, you’re doing a lot of eye closing today

but it’s how we sneak past the rational brain.

Imagine it’s Friday night and the week has already passed.

And you’ve done everything you needed to do.

You nailed the gigs.

You updated your social media.

You practiced that new routine and you feel fantastic.

You owned the week.

Now… Ask your Friday Self one question:

“What did I do differently this week to become this person?”

Now listen, seriously.

Just wait for an answer. It might come as a word. A feeling.

A whisper that says “stop scrolling Instagram and do the thing.”

Whatever you hear, write it down.

That’s your compass for the week.

It’s not wu wu or mystical mumbo jumbo.

It’s neurolinguistic time travelling.

When you project yourself into the future and feel the result, you activate the same neural networks as if it’s already happened.

You turn goals into memories and memories are much harder to ignore than a bunch of vague intentions.

Mentis Tip:

Give your future self a name. Mine’s “The veil splitter of the ninth eye.” He wears velvet and smells like Jean Paul Gaultier and ambition!

Stitching the Ritual Together

All three minutes combined form a psychic firewall.

A ritual that anchors your energy, directs your mind, and sets the tone for the weird wonderful chaos of the week.

Here’s a recap:

Breathe like you’re about to read someone’s soul.

Three deep cycles… Clarity restored.

Draw the sigil of your week.

One shape, all the power. Hide it in plain sight.

Channel your future self.

One whisper from the Friday you, infinite course correction.

Repeat every Monday.

Or any day that feels like a Monday: Wednesdays, local neighbourhood watch meetings, family BBQs… You get the idea.

Why This Ritual Works

You don’t have to believe in magic for this to work.

You just have to believe in mental rehearsal.

Science backs this up:

Breath control rewires your stress response and improves memory retention.

Sigil creation activates the default mode network, which is the key to imagination and subconscious programming.

Future self visualisation increases goal directed behaviours,

motivation and clarity.

Try doing this consistently and your Mondays will go from “where’s my energy?” to “where’s my next miracle?”

Let’s Get Even Weirder (Optional Step 4)

This part isn’t mandatory but if you’re already dancing around in your Monday socks, then you might as well go full on mystical nut job!

Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself dead in the eye and say:

“I see you. I trust you. Let’s bend reality today.”

Then wink, howl or throw a cape over your shoulder and vanish in a puff of theatrical fog.

Fragmented thoughts from the bottom of the Sock Drawer

You’re not behind, you’re not late, you’re rebooting.

Every mentalist, mystic, mind reader, and curious cat in a magician’s hat needs a moment to find themselves again.

Let Monday be that moment, let three minutes be your ritual.

And let your week unfold like a well rehearsed miracle, slightly odd, mostly brilliant but undeniably you!

Stay weird
