The Monday Mentalist Ritual
The Oracle’s Mirror
Welcome back, fellow mind meddlers. If you’re reading this, it’s Monday again.
Which means your head is probably tangled up in coffee fumes, forgotten dreams, and a vague memory of someone singing to you at 2:37am.
But fear not for today, we consult the Oracle.
Not an oracle… The Oracle, the one that lives inside your left eyebrow
and whistles when no one’s looking.
In just 3 minutes we’re going to give your brain a slap and hit refresh.
For todays ritual you’ll need to put your Blue Peter hat on and gather some materials. Here’s your supplies list:
1: A mirror. Any old mirror will do.
2: A bag of fog…
Ok, you can just breathe heavily onto the mirror to fog it up.
3: A willingness to stare deeply into your own soul.
Step 1:
Gaze into the mystical mirror of fog.
Stand in front of the mirror and exhale onto it, to fog it up.
As it starts to clears, say aloud:
I see myself clearly, even through the fog.
That’s it, that’s your mantra.
Because mentalism isn’t about seeing into the future.
It’s about clearing the fog around the present.
Step 2:
Pull a thought from the void.
Close your eyes and let a single word drift into your mind, don’t force it,
just let it arrive like a message from a sleeping platypus inside your brain.
It could be any word, for instance:
Flame, feathers, deadline or even revenge.
Write your word down, that’s your thought sigil for the week.
Now ask yourself: How does this word guide me?
Maybe flame means reigniting your passion for bending spoons?
Maybe deadline means it’s time to finish writing up that blog post you’ve been avoiding since January 2022?
Either way, it’s yours now.
Step 3:
Make one prediction.
Write one prediction in your mystical mentalist notebook:
This week, someone will [FILL IN THE BLANK]
Examples:
This week, someone will send me a product to review.
This week, someone will open up to me unexpectedly.
This week, someone will say something that changes my perspective.
It doesn’t need to be profound, it just needs to anchor your attention.
Because mentalism is often about noticing what everyone else forgets to see.
Bonus Move:
Tea leaf reversal. Brew a cup of tea or coffee.
Drink it, then stare into the mug.
Now imagine the opposite of whatever emotion you’re feeling.
If you’re feeling tired, imagine you’ve just drank 6 Red Bulls
and you’re now whizzing your nips off.
If you’re feeling anxious, picture yourself on a stage
performing and feeling completely at ease.
If you’re feeling flat, picture someone juggling balls of fire
while smiling like a crazy person.
This reversal resets your internal polarity.
Yes, I did just make the bonus move up.
But it sounds pretty good, don’t you think?
Fragmented Thoughts
In 3 minutes, you’ve cleared the mental fog and received a word from your subconscious mind, made a psychic prediction and flipped your energy like a neurotic Mexican jumping bean.
